About The Project
GFM Civil was engaged by Donovan Family Investments to undertake a large-scale agricultural redevelopment project aimed at improving drainage, water retention, and land usability across their property near Gin Gin, Queensland.
Works included the precision levelling of 121 hectares of farmland and the construction of a 20-megalitre dam, with tree clearing completed in the proposed dam footprint. A key component of the project involved moving 13,000m³ of earth during dam construction, which was then used to reclaim low-lying areas in three separate fields — improving drainage and productivity across two paddocks and an additional 4.4 hectares in another.
All drainage and levelling works were completed to a detailed design, ensuring optimal runoff and long-term land performance. The project was delivered on time within a one-month period, using a combination of scrapers, laser buckets, and support equipment.
